The combination of a respected Swiss maker and a well-regarded London retailer gives the piece both mechanical and historical appeal.

The white enamel dial is in excellent condition, free from cracks or chips, with clear black Arabic numerals and matching steel hands. The subsidiary seconds at six is clean and well-defined, contributing to a balanced and highly legible presentation.

The movement is of good Longines quality, clean and running well with a strong, even tick. The solid silver case, bearing Swiss hallmarks, remains in excellent condition with only light signs of age. The inner dust cover is finely engraved with Sir John Bennett??s name and full London address, adding a pleasing element of period provenance. The bow is strong and the crown retains its gold-coloured finish.
